History of Rover.
The Rover Company Limited
Rover started life in 1878 as in the Motorcycle Industry until 1925, when they moved into the Automotive Industry. In 1967 the company was merged into Leyland Motors until 1968.
The Rover Group Limited
The Rover Group took over from British Leyland in 1986 until 2000. When the company was spit and sold as parts to other companies.
MG and Rover where sold to Phoenix Venture Holdings creating the MG Rover Group. Land Rover was sold to Ford, and Mini retained by BMW.
MG Rover Group
The Mg Rover Group continued until 2005 when it went into administration.
