Work and Customisations.

She has been upgraded to:

  • Quad Xenon Headlights with etched lenses,
  • LED DRL halos with amber switchback,
  • LED DRL Indicators,
  • LED DRL Fog lights with DRL halos with amber switchback, and
  • a second cigarette lighter in the underarm storage.

I am upgrading her from a Connoisseur to a Connoisseur SE and De-project Drive her. So far, I have fitted rear parking sensors, dual horns, dual cupholders in the front dash console, and an ashtray in the rear of the centre console.

Our Plans.

We will be continuing the conversion to Connoisseur SE and de-project drive her. Other things to add currently include:

  • a High-line radio system,
  • an Air Bag Curtain,
  • additional USB ports;
  • a better quality plastic Walnut effect dash, and
  • replacing her complete undercarriage, which has corroded.

The Story behind the "Bermuda" cars.

All the Bermuda cars were registered RK 08 as it was SMC in Buck who sold them and the numbers were most likely issued by the Reading DVLA office.

The details of the advert from SMC to a colleague who was interested buying a 75 or ZT, and he duly contacted SMC.

He was told that SMC had bought 10 75's from the administrators of a company that went belly-up in Bermuda and these cars were shipped back to UK to be sold. 4 had already gone with the other 6 expected not to be there for very long!

After some digging into these cars, the 10 cars come from a dealer over on Bermuda island. They are top of the range MK1 Tourers with serpents alloys (the holy grail of alloys) on each car.

On checking some of the chassis numbers they were built in 2003, but some may be December 2002, which means before the project drive really started to eat into equipment spec.

The interiors on some of the cars were the rare colours like Deep Sea Greens, Amborgine (a pinky/red colour) and the lovely Blue all in leather. No car was over 25 miles on the clock, all were right hand drive (British spec), and automatic gear boxes. They would have been around £25,000 in 2003.

The colours believed to be:

  • 6 Arran White/Dover White.
  • 1 Moonstone Green with Deep Sea Green interior.
  • 1 Black with leather interior.
  • 1 very rare Odyssey Blue.
  • 1 mystery colour/unknown.
